CMB secured the tender for the Centre for Integrative Semiconductor Materials (CISM) building back in February and work commenced in July of this year.
The building is located at the heart of Swansea University’s Bay Campus, right on the beach front and benefits from spectacular views.
The 3-story building will comprise of a clean room as well as offices and research facilities and aims to be a sustainable and eco-friendly building utilising renewable energy technology. The project will deliver an integrated facility for semiconductor research and will be instrumental in developing the skills and experience needed to sustain the progress of this industry.
In these first few months of construction, our site team have started on subfloor fabrication and first floor clean room and will be commencing on the roof and plants in the near future. We will be sharing the sites progress as it takes place.
