One thing we have always prided ourselves on at CMB is our commitment to the community. Not just words, but real action to help make a difference to the people of South Wales.
Whilst recently attending South Wales Sports Ground’s 60th Anniversary Event at Cardiff City Stadium, we met the incredible people at Sparkle Appeal and our Managing Director, Steve Borley, was so taken aback by the charity and the services they provide, he asked to donate £5,000 to show CMB’s support of what they do. This donation will now go directly towards supporting children and young people with disabilities and developmental difficulties across Gwent.
Sparkle provide a wide range of incredible services including providing specialist leisure activities, running youth clubs, swimming sessions, play activities tailored to the children’s individual needs, exclusive cinema screenings, family swim sessions and family events. The donation will also help provide support for families, ensuring that parents, carers, and siblings feel included, supported, and empowered.
Rebecca McDonald, Head of Sparkle Operations, said:
“On behalf of everyone at Sparkle, I want to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to CMB for your generous donation. Hearing about your generosity in bidding on auction items and then making the incredible decision to increase your donation to £5,000 truly moved us – it speaks volumes about your kindness and commitment to making a meaningful difference.
" For many of these families, our services are the only way they can access meaningful leisure and social opportunities, and the impact of your donation will be felt by so many. We are deeply grateful for this partnership, which will help us create brighter futures for the children and young people we support.”
Our staff were blown away on their visit to Sparkle (based in Serennu Children's Centre in Newport) by not only the quantity and range of facilities/services they have available, but specifically the quality of them – the benefit and respite they provide to children with disabilities and their families is incredible and we are proud to be sponsoring them.
Mike Borley, CMB Office Manager, said:
“To see the difference the staff make for the children with additional learning needs at the Serennu Children’s Centre was most heartwarming. Having served as Chair of Governors for Meadowbank School for many years, it was wonderful to be able to meet the staff at Sparkle to share experiences and ideas from a different but most insightful perspective in supporting children with additional learning needs. I am delighted to be able to represent CMB in supporting a charity as special as Sparkle”
We strongly recommend anyone who hasn’t heard of them before to take a look at their video via link below. They truly do some remarkable work!
