As part of the Social Value initiative for the Fairwater Community Campus project we are working on as interim Principal Contractor, we recently funded the labour for CMB Maintenance to visit Greenhill School in Rhiwbina, Cardiff to connect up a humidity-controlled water supply for a mushroom growing project they’ve been working on.
The Maintenance team spent 2 days at the school teaching and mentoring the students as well as providing their services and expertise to build a water supply to a misting device to enable the optimum growing capacity in their purpose-built cabin. This will offer fantastic learning opportunities for the pupils of the school, allowing them to further develop their skills outside of normal curriculum by learning about agriculture and the importance of the environment.
BESL and CMB Maintenance were pleased to work on this community project together to support the schools in our local area by donating our time, expertise and materials. A special thank you to Smith Brother Stores for their donation of materials to this job also.
