Earlier this month we welcomed Leader of Cardiff Council, Huw Thomas, Deputy Leader & Cabinet Member for Education, Sarah Merry and CMB Directors Steve Borley and John Green for a tour of the Fairwater Community Campus site to see the progress so far. Members of the Council’s School Organisation Programme then visited later that day for another tour where they were eager to learn how each of the 3 schools would function and to see the aerial plans in person.

CMB/BESL Group Managing Director, Steve Borley, commented on the visit saying:

“I am pleased to see the progress achieved on site since we were first appointed in November. The atmosphere on site is tremendous with a teamwork and collaborative attitude driven by the project team. The supply chain is hugely grateful to Cardiff Council for saving jobs and in some instances, companies from going under, with the decision taken upon ISG’s administration. I look forward to watching the continued development of this site.”

Leader of Cardiff Council, Cllr Huw Thomas, commented:

“It’s incredible to witness the progress of Fairwater Community Campus firsthand and see the designs for Cantonian, Woodlands, and Riverbank Schools coming to life.

"We have remained fully dedicated to ensuring this ambitious project moves forward with minimal disruption or delays, protecting jobs and the supply chain.”

Cabinet Member for Education, Cllr Sarah Merry, added:

"As the first development of its kind in Cardiff, this joint education campus will be among the most advanced educational institutions in the UK. Each school will retain its unique identity while benefiting from shared facilities, expertise, and teaching opportunities, creating an outstanding experience for students, staff, and the wider community."
